5 star quality

The hotel was incredible from the start. The views when you arrive looking out over the bay are amazing. The staff are the friendliest we have met. Thank you Athina for the coffee, Yuna for the drinks and Marco for the service. Eva the manager was always so helpful and kind. The yoga was great in the morning and the gym provided everything we needed. We had the swim up room that was exceptionally good, perfect at any time of the day. The Pisco restaurant food was also top notch. Efkharisto!

Ionian relaxation

We chose this hotel after staying in the King Jason Protaras in 2023, we had a great experience there. King Jason Zante has only just opened on 1st July 2024 and we stayed in the first week of opening. Unsurprisingly there are still aspects of the hotel that need finishing and we were told of this prior to our arrival. The hotel location is on a hillside just above the town of Tsilivi, you can walk to the town in 5 minutes and there is a very small and limited beach area which was very crowded. Unfortunately, unlike Protaras there isn't a promenade and we didn't find a nice beach walk within easy reach. Tsilivi town is mainly bars, tavernas and gift shops, probably fine if you are looking for more lively entertainment. Zakynthos is a 10 minute (€15) taxi drive and offers a lot more interest and variety. On arrival, the first thing you notice are the views across the Ionian Sea to Kefalonia and mainland Greece - they are spectacular and visible from all of the bedrooms, main pools, dining and bar areas. There is a great sense of space and even with full occupancy (it was 60% when we stayed) there will be plenty of room in the pool areas and sunbeds/cabanas for everyone. No need to get up early and claim a sunbed. We stayed in a second floor standard room without a swim up, the room was perfectly fine with a small balcony and fantastic sea/pool view. In hindsight we probably would have preferred the swim up for the flexibility of being able to swim out. The bed was very comfortable, great shower and nice complimentary toiletries. Nespresso machine for coffee lovers but no tea/milk for those that like it but I am sure they will resolve this. Small niggle is the joint his/her sink - they might look nice but totally impractical for shaving and saving water. The other main concern (which is beyond the hotel's control) is that the local dogs and cockerels from nearby residential properties disturbed our sleep on a regular basis and I know that this was an issue for other guests. For a hotel offering a relaxing getaway this is a very difficult issue to resolve other than resorting to ear plugs (this may be room specific, i.e. those rooms closest to the nearby residences at the entrance to the hotel). Worth mentioning as well that in block 1 and 2 proximity to the entrance means that traffic is audible particularly early in the morning - lorries reversing etc. WiFi is excellent across the whole hotel estate. One of the most noticeable aspects of our stay was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff in all of the areas of the hotel. They were getting used to new systems and processes but they made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and it was very apparent that a lot of effort had gone in to ensuring customers had a good experience. There are 3 main dining options available at different times. The main dining and breakfast restaurant was very good with a wide selection of options. Their salads were fabulous. Pisco and Haroub were the other two restaurants offering taster menus of dishes from all over the world, Haroub had a slightly more eastern Mediterranean experience, both are excellent but Haroub offers an extensive menu and for those with smaller appetites this might be a challenge. Wine choices were very good. We attended the weekly wine tasting experience facilitated by the restaurant Sommelier, this was great fun and we met some lovely people in the process. Swimming areas during the daytime are serviced by 2 bars, they offer a full range of drink options and they provide you with a steady supply of water throughout the day to keep you hydrated. Nice background music too. Initially the speed of service felt slow but this got better through the week. At night the main bar area on the terrace is a lovely location to relax with plenty of seating options and beautiful views. There is a small gym with a rowing machine, 2 running machines, cross trainer, multi-gym and limited selection of weights. I think this is work in progress and will probably offer more in time. We experienced the Spa (Puria) and had an excellent 'couples (Yin-Yang massage and facial) massage'. We felt this was good value for the experience that we had. There is also a steam room and sauna which overlook the resort and are well worth a visit. We attended the Yoga session at 07:30 on Saturday, this was very good and very uplifting for Northern Europeans who do not have the opportunity to exercise in warm morning sunshine! Pilates sessions are also available. We became aware that other guests had been able to have experiences such as a picnic trip and cookery demonstations but the information for this was not obvious to us and not visible on the in-room information system, I am sure that this will improve with time. Overall, this was a unique and very relaxing experience in a very comfortable environment. You can do as much or as little as you want but the hotel team make every effort to make sure you have a wonderful holiday and they are the key to the hotel's success. We also met some lovely people from UK, Europe and Canada which gave the hotel a bit more of a cosmopolitan feel. If you have previously stayed at KJ Protaras then this is another level of luxury and a greater sense of space with more dining variety. We have reviewed this at 4/5 because there are some teething issues which will get ironed out as the hotel matures, the night time dog and cockerel chorus and early morning traffic noise was definitely an issue for us. We also felt that better information explaining all of the guest options and experiences would have improved our stay. We would probably choose a different room option next time to be a bit more central within the resort and away from the residential area for the reasons described above. This was still a very memorable experience for us and a huge thank you to the team at King Jason Zante - well done.

An amazing experience!!!

The experience of being in an adult only hotel like King Jason Zante is a once in a lifetime experience. It creates a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The large pool areas reflect the blue skies above making the modern architecture seem like it is floating. The way the hotel is situated seems like the views are endless, which makes you feel that you are standing in nature, embracing the natural beauty that exists around the hotel. The service and the quality together with the atmosphere that King Jason offers was truly outstanding!!

Stunning!!

Hotel atmosphere is very relaxing! The sight view is amazing where it combines swimming pool waters with sea water! The room is space and with direct access to swimming pool! There is variety of delicious food either for breakfast or lunch. SPA packages are worthy and you should definitely take it!
